Founded in 2007, NIRS works to foster a deeper understanding of the role and importance of the traditional pension system in the U.S. NIRS research and education programs are making an impact on policy makers and leading retirement thought leaders at the local and national levels. NIRS diverse membership of nearly 100 organizations interested in retirement security issues makes our work possible. Our members include employee benefit plans, state or local agencies that manage retirement plans, trade associations, financial services firms, and other retirement service providers.
