NIRS has developed a “Pension Resource Guide” to provide interested parties with factual information and data on the important role that public pensions play in our economy—for employee and retirees, public employers, and taxpayers alike.  The Guide is comprised of the following Fact Sheets:

“Public Pension Basics” fact sheet presents an overview of how pensions work—how benefits are earned, how pensions are funded, and how investment decisions are made. It also provides data on the number of Americans who rely on pensions for their retirement security.  Download this fact sheet here.
