In a letter to the editor regarding Colorado’s public pension, Marie Valenzuela writes that data in a recent NIRS research report indicates that defined contribution plans are significantly more expensive to fund than defined benefit plans.  She continues,  “I hope that a good deal of thought and unbiased research goes into the decision making process lest the solution end up costing more than it will save.”
